EuroMillions (Euro Millions, Euro Millones) is the world's first international multi-country lottery game. EuroMillions was launched by France, Spain and the United Kingdom with its first drawing on February 13, 2003. Ireland is expected to join EuroMillions by year's end. If EuroMillions proves to be a smashing success, several other European lotteries eventually may join.

EuroMillions is a Powerball-type lotto game in that numbers are chosen from two different number fields. Five numbers are chosen from 1 to 50; and two numbers are chosen from 1 to 9. There are twelve prize categories. To beat the odds of one in 76,275, 360 and win the EuroMillions (EuroMillones) jackpot, you must have all seven winning numbers correct. With rollovers, jackpots are expected to top £ 50 million. Tickets cost 2 Euros each or £ 1.5. Weekly drawings are held on Friday.

The five balls that are chosen from 50 are claret colored, which I will refer to here as the Red Balls. The nine balls from which two are chosen are golden colored "Lucky Star" balls.
