Carrie J. Murphy of Lowell won the first of 10 grand prizes of $1 million on the new Harley-Davidson instant game from the Massachusetts State Lottery. Murphy, who opted for a lump sum payment, received her check for $650,000 before taxes today at Lottery headquarters in Braintree.
She bought the lucky ticket at Drum Hill Liquor Mart on Parkhurst Road in Chelmsford. The store will receive a $10,000 commission on the sale.
Harley-Davidson, a $5 instant game, features 10 instant prizes of $1 million and 30 instant prizes of Fat Boy motorcycles. Overall, there are more than 6 million winning tickets in the game.
