$1 MILLION WESTERN 649 WINNERS IN REGINA!

Wayne and Pat Kozak wasted no time claiming their prize after realizing that their WESTERN 649 ticket for the February 10th draw had won the Top Prize of $1,000,000!

The lucky Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Westside Confectionary, located at 1152 Dorothy Street in Wayne and Pat’s hometown of Regina.

The morning after the draw, Wayne checked the winning numbers on the Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s website. “When I realized that I had all six winning numbers, I initially thought, ‘This is strange,’ and I checked the date of my ticket to make sure the ticket was for the same draw,” he smiled. “It was surreal.”

Wayne then called his wife Pat, and when he couldn’t reach her, called their daughter, who works for the same company as her mother. She ran in to Pat’s office and brought the WCLC website up on the computer to show her that someone in Regina had won the million dollars. “It’s Dad!” she said.

Back at home, Wayne was keeping his cool. “I knew I had some decisions to make, so I called a financial advisor. I then called the Prize Payout office and made an appointment to claim our prize, picked up Pat, and we came straight in.”

At the time of their win, the excited couple said they would use the winnings to pay bills, help their kids, and put the rest away for retirement. “We have always wanted to take a family vacation to some place hot, so this will make that dream a reality,” said Pat.
